How listings work

• Six places per category: Financial advisers, Annuities, Wills and estate, Savings, Pension and ISA platforms, Insurance, Funerals.
• What to send for a sponsored spot: company name, one line, logo, brand colour, web address. We build and place the advert after checking it, so it fits every screen. Company name: As it should appear, up to 40 characters. One line: Up to 140 characters (110 or fewer for a sponsored spot, so it fits on two lines), in your own words. For anything the FCA regulates it must be your own approved financial promotion. No “best” or “recommended”. Logo: Square, at least 200 × 200 pixels, PNG or SVG, on a white or see-through background, sent as a web link (https://…). Shown at 44 × 44 pixels in a sponsored spot and 36 × 36 in a listing. Brand colour: Sponsored spots only. One colour as a code, like #6b2d8f, for the stripe down the side and the button. Listings use the calculator's own look so all six sit evenly. Web address: Where clicks go (https://…), with any tracking tags you use.
• Sponsored spots: one advert at a time, in your own colours and logo, in the part of the calculator or guides that matches what you offer, such as your estate, care home fees or funeral costs. Ask about a spot in the message below.
• Shown in a new random order on every page load, so no firm sits above another.
• On the calculator and all 41 guide pages, beside each reader's own figures. A category with a red dot is the one their figures point to.
• Clearly labelled. Every listing carries this wording: "Listings are paid, shown in random order, and are not a recommendation. We may receive a fee if you use a partner service; it doesn't change what you pay." Free, impartial guidance always comes first.
• Monthly figures by email: how often your listing was shown and clicked.
• Contracts: 12 months at the full price, 24 months at 10% off, or 36 months at 20% off.
• Billing: invoiced monthly in advance by bank transfer, 14 days to pay.
• Ending: give at least a full month's notice before the end of the contract. Without it, the listing carries on for a further 6 months at the same price, and the same notice applies each time. Stopping part-way through still means paying for the rest of the contract.
• Regulated firms are checked first. In every category except wills, a listing shows only once we've seen the firm on the FCA register for what it advertises. The firm writes and approves its own listing text, which can't claim to be the best or recommended.
