Terms of use
Last updated 14 October 2026.
These terms apply to the Phased Retirement Calculator ("we"). By using it you agree to them.
What the calculator is
- A free tool that works out income, tax and inheritance tax from the figures you enter, using the UK rules for the 2026/27 tax year.
- Guides that explain how those rules work, with worked examples.
- Information, not financial advice. It doesn't know your health, your plans or your whole situation, and it never tells you what to do. We aren't authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to give financial advice.
- For advice on what to do, speak to a regulated financial adviser. Pension Wise from MoneyHelper gives free, impartial guidance if you're 50 or over.
The figures
- Every result depends on the figures you enter and the assumptions shown, such as growth, inflation and fees. Real markets, tax rules and prices change.
- The results are projections, not promises. Tax rules can change at any Budget.
- We check the rules against official sources and test the calculations, but we can't promise there are no mistakes. Please check anything important with your pension provider, HMRC or an adviser before acting on it.
Listings
- "Things to look into" shows free, independent resources and may show paid listings from firms. Paid listings are marked as paid and shown in a random order.
- Being listed doesn't mean we back a firm or that it suits you. Check any firm on the Financial Conduct Authority's register before dealing with it.
Our responsibility
- We aren't responsible for decisions you make using the calculator or the guides, or for any loss that follows from them.
- Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Changes
We may update the calculator and these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
