This page explains what the Phased Retirement Calculator ("we") collects and why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Your figures stay on your device
- Everything you type into the calculator stays in your own browser. It's never sent to us.
- The calculator saves your figures in your browser so they're there next time. Clearing your browser's data removes them.
- The PDF report is made on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Visitor numbers
To see how the site is used, we count:
- which pages are visited, and which parts of the calculator are opened;
- clicks on listings, and which website a visitor came from;
- the visitor's country, where our host provides it.
We don't use cookies for this and we don't store your IP address. To count each visitor once a day, your IP address and browser type are mixed with a random code that changes daily and is then deleted, so visits can't be traced back to you or linked from one day to the next. No figures from your plan are ever included.
Our reason (lawful basis) is our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used.
If you contact us about advertising
The "Advertise with us" form asks for your company name, your name, your email address, and optionally a phone number, website and message.
- We use them to reply to you and to manage any advertising agreement.
- They're stored securely and only our staff can see them.
- We keep them while we deal with your enquiry and any agreement, and delete them when they're no longer needed.
Our reason is to take steps you've asked for before an agreement, and our legitimate interest in replying to you.
Who else handles information
- Our hosting company stores the site and its database.
- Our email service sends emails about enquiries.
They act only on our instructions. We never sell your information.
Cookies
The public site sets no cookies. Staff who sign in to manage the site get one cookie that keeps them signed in.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. To do that, email hello@phasedretirementcalculator.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
